Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sand Bar by Peter Lanyon was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 441,000.00 (€ 501,722.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Lanyon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Orpheus, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 1,268,750.00 (€ 1,431,111.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sand Bar von Peter Lanyon wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 441.000,00 (€ 501.722,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Lanyon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Orpheus beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 1.268.750,00 (€ 1.431.111,45) versteigert wurde.
