In January 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work The harpsichord, Lime Park, Chester by Peter Kelly. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,353.68), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Peter Kelly; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The music room, Long Hill, Massachusetts sold at auction in December 2006 with the realized price of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,671.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The harpsichord, Lime Park, Chester von Peter Kelly zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.353,68) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Peter Kelly; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The music room, Long Hill, Massachusetts im Dezember 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.671,43).
