The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,264.40), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Kelly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The music room, Long Hill, Massachusetts, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,671.43).

Die Arbeit Red curtains, Château Champ de Bataille, Normandy von Peter Kelly wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.264,40) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
