This artwork by Eduard Ströhling achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2008. In the Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction, the work Mary Nelson Dudding, in printed red pelisse with leopard skin collar with drop-pearls at corners, white underdress, orange turban sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,190.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eduard Ströhling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Edward Barr Dudding (1804-1822), In The Guise Of Hercules, Circa 1810 in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,730.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eduard Ströhling erzielte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes wurde die Arbeit Mary Nelson Dudding, in printed red pelisse with leopard skin collar with drop-pearls at corners, white underdress, orange turban für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.190,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eduard Ströhling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Edward Barr Dudding (1804-1822), In The Guise Of Hercules, Circa 1810 im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.730,22).
