Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Christies in London held the auction Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art, which included the work Study for 'A timber yard' by Peter de Wint. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,987.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter de Wint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for 'A timber yard' von Peter de Wint zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.987,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter de Wint erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
