Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Recto: Study of a dachshund, the artist's pet Verso: a study of the dog by Peter de Wint for GBP 756.00 (€ 886.57). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter de Wint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Recto: Study of a dachshund, the artist's pet Verso: a study of the dog von Peter de Wint für GBP 756,00 (€ 886,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter de Wint erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
