Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Lincoln Cathedral from the castle moat by Peter de Wint. The price achieved of GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,137.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter de Wint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lincoln Cathedral from the castle moat von Peter de Wint zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.137,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter de Wint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
