Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Eyelids of Morning: The Mingled Destinies of Crocodiles and Men by Peter Beard. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,664.00 (€ 1,572.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).

Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eyelids of Morning: The Mingled Destinies of Crocodiles and Men von Peter Beard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.664,00 (€ 1.572,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Beard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 577.352,34).
