Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Ele Portfolio by Peter Beard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 88,900.00 (€ 84,121.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Beard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
