This artwork by Peter Alexander achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April 2021. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work Study for Blue III, 2003 sold for USD 35,312.50 (€ 29,353.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Peter Alexander; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (turquoise triangle), circa 1970s sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of USD 55,000.00 (€ 56,219.97).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Peter Alexander; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (turquoise triangle), circa 1970s im September letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 55.000,00 (€ 56.219,97).
