Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Young Child with Goose and Ducks by Perceval (Percy) Charles Lindsay for AUD 5,875.00 (€ 3,470.67). This price was achieved in the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS at Christies in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Perceval (Percy) Charles Lindsay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Fossicking For Gold in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 28,800.00 (€ 16,296.08).
