Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle Standing On A Riverbank by Paulus Potter was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. The price achieved of USD 98,500.00 (€ 71,016.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paulus Potter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape with cattle and a woman cleaning a bucket by a stream in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 1,582,500.00 (€ 1,767,793.54).
