This artwork by Paulus Potter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2008. In the Old Master Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Two Pigs In A Sty sold for GBP 217,250.00 (€ 276,018.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paulus Potter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape with cattle and a woman cleaning a bucket by a stream in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 1,582,500.00 (€ 1,767,793.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paulus Potter erzielte im Juli 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Two Pigs In A Sty für GBP 217.250,00 (€ 276.018,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paulus Potter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape with cattle and a woman cleaning a bucket by a stream im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.582.500,00 (€ 1.767.793,54).
