Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blind Woman, New York, 1916 by Paul Strand was sold in the An American Journey: The Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Collection of Photographic Masterworks auction at Christies in New York in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 66,184.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Strand have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Akeley Motion Picture Camera, New York, 1922 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 783,750.00 (€ 595,192.89).
