The work Ville d'Avray by Paul Lecomte was sold in the Nineteenth Century European Art auction at Christies in London in March 2008. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,983.59), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Lecomte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French A Spring Morning At The Château-Gaillard in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,000.00 (€ 24,158.13).

Die Arbeit Ville d'Avray von Paul Lecomte wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.983,59) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Lecomte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French A Spring Morning At The Château-Gaillard im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.000,00 (€ 24.158,13).
