Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with Fruit by Paul Lacroix was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,109.55). Other works by Paul Lacroix have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2024 by the work Still Life with Peaches at USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,113.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life with Fruit von Paul Lacroix im September 2010 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.109,55) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Paul Lacroix wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2024 die Arbeit Still Life with Peaches mit USD 13.860,00 (€ 12.113,27).
