This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century American & Western Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Lacroix; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still Life with Peaches sold at auction in January 2024 with the realized price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,113.27).
