Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part II. Dutch and Flemish Drawings from 1500-1900, which included the work Two Duck Decoys Amongst Reeds; And Four Duck Decoys by Paul Gabriël. The price achieved of EUR 1,062.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Gabriël achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A painter, possibly the artist W.B. Tholen, at work in a punter on a sunny day in October 2021 with an auction result of EUR 75,000.00.

Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part II. Dutch and Flemish Drawings from 1500-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Duck Decoys Amongst Reeds; And Four Duck Decoys von Paul Gabriël zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.062,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Gabriël erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A painter, possibly the artist W.B. Tholen, at work in a punter on a sunny day im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.000,00.
