Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in New York held the auction Living the Avant-Garde: The Triton Collection Foundation, Evening Sale Part I, which included the work Masque de Meyer de Haan by Paul Gauguin. The price achieved of USD 66,040.00 (€ 60,542.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Gauguin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternité II in November last year with an auction result of USD 105,730,000.00 (€ 102,421,776.62).
