Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Nude, New York' by Patrick Demarchelier was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,283.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Demarchelier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christy Turlington, New York, 1990 in November this year with an auction result of EUR 138,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Nude, New York' von Patrick Demarchelier im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.283,73) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Patrick Demarchelier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christy Turlington, New York, 1990 im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 138.600,00.
