In June last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work Ecriture No. 051206 by Park Seo-Bo. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 3,024,000.00 (€ 367,998.47), 37% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Park Seo-Bo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work ECRITURES NO. 10-79-83, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 10,260,000.00 (€ 1,171,553.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ecriture No. 051206 von Park Seo-Bo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 3.024.000,00 (€ 367.998,47) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Park Seo-Bo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ECRITURES NO. 10-79-83 beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 10.260.000,00 (€ 1.171.553,93) versteigert wurde.
