This artwork by Paris Prekas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in May this year. In the The Greek Sale auction, the work Vue de Syros sold for EUR 5,737.50 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paris Prekas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greek ships, which sold at auction in May 2011 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,152.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paris Prekas erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Greek Sale wurde die Arbeit Vue de Syros für EUR 5.737,50 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Paris Prekas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greek ships beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.152,55) versteigert wurde.
