Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greek Meteora by Paris Prekas was sold in the The Greek Sale auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,289.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paris Prekas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greek ships, which sold at auction in May 2011 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,152.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Greek Meteora von Paris Prekas wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion The Greek Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.289,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Paris Prekas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greek ships beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.152,55) versteigert wurde.
