Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Lamentation by Paolo de Matteis was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2019. The price achieved of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,916.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paolo de Matteis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sacrifice of Isaac, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 114,000.00 (€ 166,882.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Lamentation von Paolo de Matteis kam im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 67.916,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Paolo de Matteis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sacrifice of Isaac beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für GBP 114.000,00 (€ 166.882,64) versteigert wurde.
