Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work The Fall Of Manna From Heaven by Paolo de Matteis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,790.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paolo de Matteis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Sacrifice of Isaac in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 114,000.00 (€ 166,882.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Fall Of Manna From Heaven von Paolo de Matteis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.790,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paolo de Matteis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Sacrifice of Isaac im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 114.000,00 (€ 166.882,64).
