Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 36,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paolo de Matteis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Sacrifice of Isaac in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 114,000.00 (€ 166,882.64).

Die Arbeit Nozze Mistiche Di Santa Caterina von Paolo de Matteis kam im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Mailand zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 36.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paolo de Matteis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Sacrifice of Isaac im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 114.000,00 (€ 166.882,64).
