Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Lot And His Daughters by Paolo de Matteis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,324.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paolo de Matteis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sacrifice of Isaac in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 114,000.00 (€ 166,882.64).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lot And His Daughters von Paolo de Matteis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.324,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paolo de Matteis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sacrifice of Isaac im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 114.000,00 (€ 166.882,64).
