The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,399.67) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paolo de Matteis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sacrifice of Isaac in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 114,000.00 (€ 166,882.64).

Die Arbeit Latona And The Lycian Peasants von Paolo de Matteis wurde im Dezember 2012 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.399,67) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
