This artwork by Paola Pivi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2017. In the First Open auction, the work Do you know why Italy is shaped like a boot? Because so much shit couldn’t fit in a shoe sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,679.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paola Pivi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Donkey) in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 227,000.00 (€ 203,861.70).

Because so much shit couldn’t fit in a shoe für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.679,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paola Pivi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Donkey) im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 227.000,00 (€ 203.861,70).
