Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mama no more diapers, please by Paola Pivi was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 441,000.00 (€ 46,515.94). Admittedly, works by Paola Pivi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Donkey) in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 227,000.00 (€ 203,861.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mama no more diapers, please von Paola Pivi im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 441.000,00 (€ 46.515,94) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paola Pivi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Donkey) im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 227.000,00 (€ 203.861,70).
