Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges, which included the work Salmon Nets and Piers by Pádraig MacMiadhacháin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,068.57), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pádraig MacMiadhacháin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waiting For The Tide in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 5,026.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges durch, in der auch die Arbeit Salmon Nets and Piers von Pádraig MacMiadhacháin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.068,57) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pádraig MacMiadhacháin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waiting For The Tide im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 5.026,23).
