Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work The Harbour and Large White House, Gozo by Pádraig MacMiadhacháin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,113.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pádraig MacMiadhacháin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waiting For The Tide in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 5,026.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Harbour and Large White House, Gozo von Pádraig MacMiadhacháin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.113,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pádraig MacMiadhacháin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waiting For The Tide im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 5.026,23).
