Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Maternité en creux by Pablo Gargallo was auctioned at Christies in Paris in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 170,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pablo Gargallo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Masque D'Arlequin Souriant Iii, 1927, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 490,896.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Maternité en creux von Pablo Gargallo kam im Oktober 2016 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 170.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Pablo Gargallo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Masque D'Arlequin Souriant Iii, 1927 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 490.896,00 versteigert wurde.
