Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Petrus Marius Molijn could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings auction, the work Self Portrait, Head And Shoulders, Set In A Stone Cartouche changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,336.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Petrus Marius Molijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Throwing the dice in October 2005 with an auction result of EUR 42,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Petrus Marius Molijn konnte im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Self Portrait, Head And Shoulders, Set In A Stone Cartouche für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.336,17) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Petrus Marius Molijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Throwing the dice im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 42.000,00.
