In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Ghanaian Movement No. 1 by Owusu-Ankomah. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,449.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Other works by Owusu-Ankomah have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2018 the work Ghan aianmovement No. 4 was auctioned for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,782.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ghanaian Movement No. 1 von Owusu-Ankomah zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.449,33) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Owusu-Ankomah konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2018 die Arbeit Ghan aianmovement No. 4 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.782,67) versteigert.
