Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Owusu-Ankomah could be acquired at Sothebys in London in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Ghanaian Microcron-Kundum No. 2 changed hands for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,107.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Owusu-Ankomah have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ghan aianmovement No. 4 in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,782.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Owusu-Ankomah konnte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Ghanaian Microcron-Kundum No. 2 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.107,27) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Owusu-Ankomah auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ghan aianmovement No. 4 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.782,67).
