Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Poro Drawing IV by Ouattara Watts. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,253.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ouattara Watts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Afro Beat in May last year with an auction result of USD 781,200.00 (€ 727,984.34).

Im Dezember 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poro Drawing IV von Ouattara Watts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.253,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ouattara Watts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Afro Beat im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 781.200,00 (€ 727.984,34).
