Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still life with roses, fruit and a bottle by Otto van Rees was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 227.05. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Rees achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature morte - Still life in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 29,875.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still life with roses, fruit and a bottle von Otto van Rees im Juli 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 227,05 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otto van Rees erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature morte - Still life im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 29.875,00.
