In September 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Boats on a river by Otto B. de Kat. The auction ended at the price of EUR 2,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Otto B. de Kat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work De ronde tafel - Ukkel, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 7,528.50.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boats on a river von Otto B. de Kat zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Otto B. de Kat mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit De ronde tafel - Ukkel beobachtet, die im November 2003 für EUR 7.528,50 versteigert wurde.
