Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work L'oiseau d'or by Ossip Zadkine was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 380,000.00 (€ 368,110.05). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ossip Zadkine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tête de jeune garçon, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 797,000.00 (€ 934,005.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit L'oiseau d'or von Ossip Zadkine im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 380.000,00 (€ 368.110,05) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ossip Zadkine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tête de jeune garçon beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 797.000,00 (€ 934.005,33) versteigert wurde.
