Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still life with roses, tulips, carnations and other flowers in a Chinese lacquer basket and in a glass vase on a ledge, with a butterfly and a dragonfly by Osias Beert the Elder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,849.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Osias Beert the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of Porcelain Vessels Containing Sweets, Pewter Plates Bearing Sweets And Chestnuts, Three Pieces Of Glassware And A Bread Roll On A Table Draped With A Mauve Cloth in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,264,460.28).

Die Arbeit Still life with roses, tulips, carnations and other flowers in a Chinese lacquer basket and in a glass vase on a ledge, with a butterfly and a dragonfly von Osias Beert the Elder kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.849,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Osias Beert the Elder erzielen.
