The price achieved of GBP 373,250.00 (€ 448,791.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Osias Beert the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Still Life Of Porcelain Vessels Containing Sweets, Pewter Plates Bearing Sweets And Chestnuts, Three Pieces Of Glassware And A Bread Roll On A Table Draped With A Mauve Cloth, which sold at auction in January 2012 for USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,264,460.28).
