Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work On the way to market; and Peasant girls on a coastal track, Capri by Oscar Ricciardi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,584.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Ricciardi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing Vessels Moored At The Bay of Naples, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,359.89).
