The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,125.00 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olav Cleofas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still life with a bottle, a glass and an egg, which sold at auction in November 2000 for NLG 17,553.00 (€ 8,223.30).

Die Arbeit Still life with an egg, a box and a pink tin von Olav Cleofas wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now, incl. Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.125,00 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Olav Cleofas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still life with a bottle, a glass and an egg beobachtet, die im November 2000 für NLG 17.553,00 (€ 8.223,30) versteigert wurde.
