In February 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Squaw and papoose by Olaf Carl Seltzer. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,650.00 (€ 6,325.97), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olaf Carl Seltzer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) in May last year with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 93,933.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Squaw and papoose von Olaf Carl Seltzer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.650,00 (€ 6.325,97) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olaf Carl Seltzer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 93.933,46).
