Yaromonju migi, the right hand sheet of a triptych entitled Waki Sampukutsui (Harmony, triptych), a young dandy (wakashu) astride a lion in a parody of the bodhisattva Monju, signed Okumura Masanobu shohitsu and sealed Okumura and with circular publisher's seal Tori Shiocho kongen Okumura ban kono ho no e nise-han soro aida hyotan in itashi soro (original published by Okumura in Tori Shio-cho as my prints are being spuriously published I have applied the gourd mark)--good impression, slightly faded, pin holes and repaired worming, lightly soiled

The work Okumura Masanobu by Okumura Masanobu was sold in the AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS auction at Christies in New York in March 2003. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,262.39), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Okumura Masanobu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu I in March last year with an auction result of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,260.43).

Die Arbeit Okumura Masanobu von Okumura Masanobu wurde im März 2003 in der Auktion AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.736,00 (€ 5.262,39) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Okumura Masanobu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu I im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.260,43).
