Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Deep Pool by Ogden Minton Pleissner was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,149.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ogden Minton Pleissner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Down's Gulch, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 84,000.00 (€ 70,933.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Deep Pool von Ogden Minton Pleissner wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.149,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ogden Minton Pleissner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Down's Gulch beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für USD 84.000,00 (€ 70.933,96) versteigert wurde.
