Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Reaping Along Wind River, Wyoming by Ogden Minton Pleissner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,479.17). Admittedly, works by Ogden Minton Pleissner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Down's Gulch in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 84,000.00 (€ 70,933.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Reaping Along Wind River, Wyoming von Ogden Minton Pleissner im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.479,17) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ogden Minton Pleissner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Down's Gulch im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.000,00 (€ 70.933,96).
