This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Octave Guillonnet; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A siesta in the shade sold at auction in June 2004 with the realized price of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 21,342.22).
