Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2015 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors - Including 20th/21st Century Pictures, which included the work When visiting historic buildings; and Before starting the journey by Norman Thelwell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,200.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Thelwell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'How many trading stamps did they give you with him?', which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,349.99).

Im August 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors - Including 20th/21st Century Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit When visiting historic buildings; and Before starting the journey von Norman Thelwell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.200,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Norman Thelwell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'How many trading stamps did they give you with him?' beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.349,99) versteigert wurde.
